Anderson Cooper attacked in

EgyptAnderson Cooper attacked including his crew by supporters of Hosni Mubarak in Cairo on Wednesday.

CNN's Steve Brusk tweeted that Cooper was punched in the head ten times.

While Anderson Cooper was reporting from Cairo, from where the demonstrators loyal to embattled President Hosni Mubarak were protesting, Cooper along with his camera crew were "pushed and shoved and punched in the head" by attackers reported by CNN.

Fortunately no one got hurt.

Says Anderson, who was reportedly bludgeoned 10 times: "The instinct is try to punch back... but in a situation like that you really can't because that just inflames the crowd all the more... so all we could do is just try to walk as quickly as possible, stay together and seek a safe location, which is where we are now."

Anderson Hays Vanderbilt Cooper (born June 3, 1967) is an American journalist, author, and television personality. As of 2010 he is the primary anchor of the CNN news show Anderson Cooper 360°. The program is normally broadcast live from a New York City studio; Cooper, however, often broadcasts live on location for breaking news stories.
